The Orange Revolution was a series of protests and political events that took place in Ukraine from late November 2004 to January 2005, in the immediate aftermath of the run-off vote of the 2004 Ukrainian presidential election which was marred by massive corruption, voter intimidation and direct electoral fraud.
This clip shows two fraudulent tactics used to skew election results: the "Carousel" and the use of acid to destroy ballots.

The alleged electoral fraud, combined with the fact that the exit polls recorded a result (an 11% margin of victory for Yushchenko in one poll) so radically different from the final vote tally (a 3% margin of victory for Yanukovych), prompted Yushchenko and his supporters to refuse to recognize the results.
After thirteen days of massive popular protests in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities, that became known as the Orange Revolution, the election results were overturned by the Supreme Court and a re-run of the run-off election was ordered for December 26.
Well, I don't know how're things in Ukraine today but I'm tempted to assume the situation is similar as in Serbia since it was a part of this glorified nonviolent resistance wave of Eastern Europe.
The truth is that electoral frauds, regime's media manipulation and corruption remain after the "democratization" of former socialist countries but nobody reports on this anymore since the newly installed puppet regimes are far more favorable for militant capitalism.
