@UnconformistSheep When you're right, you're right. What happens is that the US is going thru a tough time and using immigrations as a scapegoat is easy. When is it that the inflow of smart and or motivated immigrants has not benefited the US economy? He's basing his arguments on the premise that if some people are 'haves' then there is a proportional amount of 'have not', which is valid only to a certain extent and if it were valid all the time then the US wouldn't be where it is today.

What this Roy Beck says sounds all good and dandy, and it all crumbles when you consider that... there is no such thing as a fixed number of jobs!
Many other countries with more stringent immigration policies are having hard times now. It has nothing to do with immigrants. In fact, many businesses are started by immigrants, so, if anything, they help make our economy more dynamic, and a dynamic economy is one of our greatest allies in a down turn.
