Time is the only thing that's changed, the government still sees us as second class citizens and will pull the exact same bullshit that they said to these workers. "Work first and I will pay you later" -we all know how that worked out didn't we. Only a fool with expect the government to treat us "Chinamen" as actual human beings. "China-man" official name given to Chinese by the Government.
