iTunes 7.7 (43) running on Mac OS X 10.4.11 introduced a weird bug in my music library.
Unicode characters (with accents, umlauts, etc) are being mysteriously replaced.. and even when I fix them, the error seems to propagate to the next track in the list!
Tell me I'm not the only one!
it's doing the same thing for me also :(
(not all accented id3s, just several)
the only workaround i found is:
- select bad mp3s
- convert to mp3 (even they are already)
- fix the id3s manually
- delete original mp3s
after this process, they won't go bad again.
it's soo annoying :(
i hope there coming a bugfixed update soon, wich will correct theese automatically :)

This is happening all over the world. Everyone who bought a 3G iPhone was forced to make this upgrade. They may not have realized it yet, but iTunes 7.7 is malware that is eating through their mp3 collections right now, and converting the tags will just delete their album art and delete the mp3s from any playlists they are in...
