The main aim of the shoot was to see how the FS100 held up against the F3. We shot on a bright sunny day by the River Thames and again in the evening in a typically lit living room. There were no big surprises. The FS100 is remarkably close to the F3. You would have no problems cutting between the two of them in a project.

  • F3 has s-log and dual link hdmi output + built in ND filters. The F100, does not- thats worth 6k extra if your doing high end film prodution

  • @dafreeesubsman

ok which one do you have? the F3 I presume?

  • @DylanPenev It depends on your production. If you really need bigger bitrates than 24mbps and a little better low light sensitivity go for the f3. If the fs100 offers everything you need there really is no reason to get an F3.It's a matter of features and flexibility.

  • @dafreeesubsman

    Hi dafreesubsman

Do you recommend the F3 more than the FS100?

  • @AGrandt The F3 is an XDCAM and the FS100 is an nxcam . On the F3 you record onboard in 35Mbps and on the FS100 in 24 or 28.The SxS cards are far better than SD cards.Having SDI is better than HDMI even if both output uncompressed . I do not see a big difference between the two and I dont think paying another 6 to 8 thousand dollars makes such an important difference. The F3 is just more functional compare to the fs100 and has less limits

  • great review thanks!

  • In all reviews i hear (or read) about aliasing, but for me the partial exposure issues are very very important. I am into filming storms and lightning. With my canon 7d the partial exposure is horrible :( Do you have any idea iff the FS100 will show the same problem when i will film lightning?

  • It'll be interesting to see a retest in a years time, when you have had more time with the FS100.

But there is one major difference between the two. The F3 may very well be the better camera overall. But is the difference worth the much higher price-tag of the F3?

  • Piss those morons off on DVinfo and DVXuser.....

  • wow i am from Recife , Brazil in south america and i was just waiting for this movie to make up my mind about getting the fs 100 thanks for sharing that ..,
