O'Toole at his very, very best. Which is to say THE very best there is!
-
Character actor Phil Bruns..who played"Federal Matshall Holt"in this final scene..he got his knees badly injured in this fight scene.

I think this was Richard Benjamin's directoral debut. Like other posters, I love this movie.
But I do pick out (no knock on anything about the movie) the pattern of a Sony Trinatron cathode ray tube in the final close-ups of a television screen.
Peter O'Toole's performance in Lord Jim made me go back to read the book again.

I love this ending..Where Mr.O'Toole's "Alan Swan"finally becomes a real heroe and saves"Stan("King")Kasier"from"
Boss Rojack's"bully boys. -
Hope someone gets this whole film on YT. :)

"My Favorite Year" is one of my most "favorite films ".
A great moment when Swan finds his "inner swashbuckler".
Also,1954,the year I was born is still,"MY favorite year".
Also,Mark Lynn-Baker was never better!

Great moment in a really good film.

This ending is so much better than the one in "Get Him To The Greek"!
I've watched this movie since I was 12 years old- it never fails to make me feel good- when I'm down, sick, or just plain bored- I pop this in- and life is suddenly better
