This is "Gemini Dream" by UK progressive rock band "The Moody Blues". Released in 1981 it was the first hit single from their UK & US number 1 album "Long Distance Voyager". The song was written by vocalist band members Justin Hayward & John Lodge.

Long Distance Voyager was a Moody Blues album released in 1981, and was their first with keyboardist Patrick Moraz in place of original keyboardist Mike Pinder.

After the completion of the 1978 album Octave, Pinder decided against touring with the Moody Blues to promote the album, so the group replaced him with former Yes keyboardist Moraz. The band then waited three years before releasing a new album, the longest gap between Moody Blues albums since the group went on hiatus after the release of Seventh Sojourn in 1972.

Long Distance Voyager is only partially a concept album, as only half of the songs relate to a "travelling" referred to in the album's title. The final three tracks comprise a mini-suite that combines themes of carnival jesters and the chaos experienced backstage at a rock show.

Upon release in 1981, Long Distance Voyager became the Moody Blues' second U.S. number one album, and was also the source of the top-40 singles "The Voice" (#15) and "Gemini Dream" (#12).

At the same time you may also like to explain to the fans why the original DVD version sounded like shyte!

"It's time to stop dishing out these second rate poorly produced products, those days are over. We consumers now not only have the technology to notice it but we can expose it & if need be revive it! Obviously not everyone can do the latter but they really shouldn't have to... should they? After all isn't that what the so called sound engineers get paid for?"

Please also be aware that all videos uploaded to YouTube are format shifted by the host website from the original files. This can often cause picture & sound deterioration (i.e. mono audio) as well as the occasional video/audio synchronization issue!

  • @paultheactor1 Sorry Moody Blues were around long before ELO were born. No band is a copy of the other...Moody Blues were formed in 1964 under another name, formed officially in 1966 and ELO started in the 70's both are great bands...No need to hate! Moody Blues are no copy cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You 're right! They do sound like ELO in 1981!!

  • @BusterBallz68 He actually is a great flautist but in the eighties The Moody Blues were making fewer and fewer songs that included flute parts. He also wrote a lot of beautiful lyrics. So watching this video, you might have gotten the wrong impression. (take a look at their older songs, it's worth it!)

  • The Tambourine player needs to pick up his weight. Look at the Keyboard player, he's playing 12 keyboards, you think maybe the tambourine guy might be able to play one.

  • I thought just that when I listened to it for the first time!

  • Thought this was ELO

  • sweeet album.

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Still selling out stadium's all over the world!

  • I really like how John holds his bass. He has a great posture and looks so professional. :) Rick Savage of Def Leppard holds his this way also. Its very cool looking. And this song is one of the Moodies best in my opinion its so possitive and motivating. :)

  • YES!! Great song, I love the Moody Blues too :-))

  • Is this 30 years ago now? My goodness, its been a long time since hearing these guys in the Summer of 1981. I still have my vinyl copy of LDV.
