Your own ignorance is showing with the statement that the "Gracie's refined jujitsu". You obviously know nothing about the history of Japanese jujutsu, which was designed for (and tested) in war. The Gracie's have merely placed an emphasis on pre-existing techniques which work well in one-on-one fights. They have invented nothing new and their claim to have "introduced leverage to jiu-jitsu" is laughable
