So how reliable can a Turbo, Nitrous, Mud ATV be?
Well this is our shop Outlander, that will be running on its 4th season this Spring. It took us about 6 months to work out the quirks and find a combination that was both reliable and go like stink. If you search this ATV on youtube, you can find it doing burnouts, MudPit Racing, and numerous rallys. We have alot of fun with this unit, and it is still running very strong and in great shape. Less than 10% leakdown on both cylinders. Watch for the PPSM crew on this unit again this year!

  • What clutch mods have been done to handle that kind of power reliably??

  • @snake1700grizz The clutches are both stock primary and secondary with stiffer rate springs to handle the load, the primary also uses a different weight setup.

  • would you suggest this turbo system for someone who basically uses his bike every other day. long trips. -30 weather. pulling a masive ice hut on the lake. camping for days at a time hours from civilization... or is it more of a liability than anything?

  • @elaposto The turbo works best mud pit racing, it gives us great wheel speed to pull past the competition. It is huge overkill for everyday riding. We like to take it out to local rallys, as it is a great crowd pleaser, and it has been very reliable for us on these rides. The drawbacks, is it is quite loud with the straight exhaust, and for your application, the closer you stay to a stock machine, you will have way less maintenance, and more reliable.

  • @elaposto My choice, for your riding would be a Outlander with either 800 or 1000cc engine. You still get lots of power, and reliability. Then add your tire choice, and accessories, but leave the engine stock. Thanks Mechanic Mike

  • Around 140HP Crank without lying to you....

  • whats the total hp this making with nitrous?

  • do you NEED to have that ugly muffler for this set up? could you use dual LTE's or Hmf's or muzzy or something?

  • With the turbo, we relocate the air filter. Being we use this as a pit ATV, we relocated to the center snorkel.(The big red filter). We keep a close eye on it for mud and water, and usually have a spare to swap out. The two side snorkels on the side are the CVT intake and exhaust.
