  • Great stuff but he maybe forgot about the oil seal on the prop shaft being cooked.

  • Heating that far down on the skeg will not cook the seal. If you are concerned about burning the seal, then remove the seal.

  • That is odd? I understand what he is saying.

    Maybe you don't understand shop-talk or the words/terms used and this is your issue?

    The jest of it is, you must heat the base metal (aluminum) to the melting point of the repair rod, in order for the rod material to "flow" onto the part being repaired.
