  • I don't think he's doing it that well tbh. You can see him lose his edge several times and the snow looks well grippy. If he's a freestyler maybe he should stick to that lol!

  • It's cool that you want to carve, but if you get people to carve with the butt-in-the-air/petting the dog technique, you're going to do more harm than good. This isn't eurocarving and it's not good carving technique in general. Learn about angulation. You want your hands on the snow because there's no where else for them to go, not because you're reaching for the snow.

  • @jurassic690 He's doing really basic carving, there's no g's holding his carve, and on ice, he's going to slide right out. Here in the east Canada you would NEVER be able to carve the way he's doing here because i don't think i've EVER seen runs that open/smooth. I learned to alpine carve on plastic flexy mc flex Firefly bindings at 60/60 angles! Lol, it worked, but i have really big feet and my Hooger Booger board is too narrow so there's tons of overhang.

  • Besides the learning curve and ability level to learn this technique, it looks FUN. A lot of fun, actually. There's nothing like the feeling of a smooth, effective carve. I'll be working on this technique next season!

  • You bend your back too much, which leads that you sometimes sketch out. Putting a strait back will give you more balance

  • @edfreen Very true, really all it is. The main idea is if you keep pushing your legs out (angulation), your hands will naturally get to the snow.

  • @h8termsofuse i ride alot in korea which is also icy. ive been to sweden once and it wasnt that bad maybe i got lucky hehe. but on steep and ice u just have to go into it gently and slowly but u can still get it pretty good. if u duck then ur not gonna be able to get as high on ur edge meaning ur edge is gonna be even weaker + bad form means bad balance = slip more on ice. but yea its a little bit of an idealistic theory

  • @beanazz

post ur vid and dont just show of ;-)

ever ridden on real euro ICE? - duck u wont be able 2 hold an edge in the steeps...

and this guy has got NO idea at all what hes talkin about

    greetz from ol europe

  • @gwmorales its not impossible to extremecarve with a freestyle board and soft boots. I bet i can carve better than about 90% of alpine boarders. Il get a video up. lol im not trying to brag but its srsly not impossible. I went to nationals in korea last year with a freestyle board (im just an amateur) and got 5th. i can carve extreme carve without breaking at the waist and reaching out for the snow. so far i havent seen anyone ride the freestyle board better than me:D yes i am cocky... sorry lol

  • ty 4 the tips m8 =]

  • ha i wish i could get paid to do something i learned my third time snowboarding
