    He's saying that when using a web browser, such as firefox, ie, chrome etc, then you don't use your username. But when you use an app to sign in, at least in his experience, it requires a username rather than an e-mail.

    I don't know if it's just me but I sign in with my Email account because it won't let me sign in with my username.

    Pretty sure other websites like Facebook and Yahoo do this as well.
