This is silly 'lil me
despite the fact that I have never taken ballet, I decided to get a pair of pointe shoes and just start practicing. :)I have taken chinese dance from 3-5, and then 2nd-3rd grade. I took hip hop for a year in 5th grade. I am currently taking hip hop (7th grade) and I will start ballet, tap, and jazz next year (8th grade). I may or may not continue with hip hop. Any pointers/suggestions/comments would be much appreciated, thanks!

PLEASE STOP TRYING TO PERSUADE ME OFF POINTE

any constructive critisizm would be nice, and any advice...
~Pinkviolin101

  • Use padding, I recomend ouch Pouch ;) It helps alot. when your going up on point, you need to straiten your knees, also turn out! you have a nice arch though..

  • thanks for your advice :D

  • Well as everyone is saying that you shouldn't be en pointe if you have never done ballet before I ave to agree. However, if you want o do then go for it ! When you do your rises (going en pointe) make sure that you work all the way through your feet to warm them up. Don't go straight onto the box. Also try to eshappe (escape(slide your feet along the floor)) when you go out into your second. x x x

  • ok, thanks 4 ur advice!

  • you are going to hurt yourself severly

  • Yea, I know how to be careful, thank you very much, I'm not gonna send myself to the ER. Some advice would be helpful.

  • You are being rude and ignorant. Most of these ppl have studied ballet for years, worked their butts off, and paid for lessons to FINALLY go on pointe, and they find a video of some girl who just thinks she can do it because she studied a type of dance completely different than ballet and owns the shoes. RESPONSIBLE,MATURE people would take the advice you are receiving. Stay off pointe until u hav a certified teacher to strengthen your leg and foot muscles for the privilege of pointe.

  • Good luck with that nasty broken ankle you will get if you keep doing that.

  • @Pinkviolin101 great job for someone who has had no training. Don't listen to @WoaNellie she is just is ignorant and rude herself!!!!!

  • @WaoNellie I meant to say, like she gives a crap about what you say. I do believe that she could hurt herself doing this but so could anybody else. At least she can go outside of your O.C.D ballet rules.

  • Opps stupid iPod
