    No disrespect to Beyonce', but this is not a song best performed by her. Big Pink does a better job. This is not a made-for-MTV song -- read the lyrics w/ no audio and it's easier to see that. Beyonce' may be the wealthier, more influential entertainer. Big Pink are the better artists. Dancing girls pop star hairstyles/costumes don't even come to mind when you read this as a poem.

    I also like Beyonce's version, only because she really does put passion when she sings and the background beat is catchy to me. but this version is more symbolic, raw, and organic. i'm divided between both, they're both beautiful in their own ways.

    For me what this version did is make the lyrics mean something. I hear beyonces and thought nothing of it but then heard this n thought wow what powerful lyrics

    beyonce is amazing and so are the big pink. they are completely different styles of music, so its awesome that the band was able to interpret the song in their own way. beautiful.
