It's too bad Starfleet ships had shields were useless agains the Domion and Cardassian weapons. So many wouldn't of been wiped out.

That's because the Dominion gave cardassians poloron weapons. Like the Jem Hadar destroyed that Odyessey in a few hits. That's because they were able to fire through the shields. That's when the Federation had problems. During the war, there was 1 BOP that was able to withstand the poloron weapons and they managed to put them on every ship. It was too late because the war wasnt goig well and then the Cardassians joined the Romies, Klingons and Feds.

that 1 BOP was able to withstand the Breen energy draining weapon not the Dominion weapons, Federation had problem with Dominion weapons before the second battle of Chin'taka

@Seattlecarnut, do not raise your hopes. The current management of TV is unlikely to give a venerable franchise like Star Trek a chance or they will screw it up if they do it on network TV. Hopefully Cable can do a better job at that for sure.

@vdizhoor that's because violence sells more. there still is exploration, but there is action too and larger than before, and the show is still about its people. i would say the show has improved somewhat.
