  • E85 fuel would'nt eliminate the need for foreign oil!! You still need oil to mix with ethanol. The only way to do be independent is to use H-Fuel cell technology. gasoline needs to become obsolete before we can become truly independent. When will that be?

  • Yes it will. We still have oil in America that we would use to mix with the E85. Remember, over 50% of the oil we use comes from North America. So if we can cut back total usage by 75% by using E85, we would have more than enough of our own resources to get by!

  • I also love the idea of our being able to utilize our crops for fuel, as I believe that farms are one of the foundation stones of America & one of our greatest assets! Also, living on the Oregon coast, we have lots of wind, so if every house here had a wind generator there would be a massive reduction in energy needs here! People just can't afford to buy them!

  • The "affordability" factor can easily be dealt with... right now there is no supply, and very little major demand... with a law, companies will be scrambling to create supply, the price will drop and the availability will increase (as well as varaiety). It will be a pioneering type movement, with new manufacturing business popping up across the US to meet the demand... First step: Create a demand!

  • You are totally right, but you forget the lawsuit factor! How many people will complain that the wind generators ruin their view, or the solar panels reflect the sun into their windows at a certain time of day, etc.! LOL! Our society is so full of whiney people who will waste plenty of their time money in court over the most petty things!

  • Another radical rule... and I don't even think it breaks the "cruel and unusual" rule... well, it may be unusual at first...

Anyone complains about stupid crap when it comes to making a radical change to save the earth (and our society), line up for your daily smacking... we could even create a smacking machine to ensure that the punishment is calibrated... first offense is a "love tap"... and so on... including "smack you silly" and "smack the shit out of you"...

  • Hydrogen > E85. Nice try though.

I agree with 80% of what you said.

  • They need to find some thing else to mix Ethenol with instead of gas. Then we won't have to use gas at all in the US.

One other thing, if every one in the US went out and protested gas as much as they did the war in Vietnam, the govt. would have to listen and they would have to stop using gas. Some one needs to go Bomb Opec or some thing to.

  • One other thing is E85 is 85% ethenol and 15% gasoline. The main reason they make it like that is when they refine Ethenol, it is 100% alcohol. You could technicly mix it with Coke and drink it. The main reason they put gas in it is to make it poisonous. That way they don't have to pay alcohol tax on it. They don't want people to drink it any way.

There are several other reasons for mixing gas in it, but that is the biggest one.

  • We do need to make ALL vehicles on the road run on some thing else other than gas or oil. This is posible right now. We don't need to have all cars get 40 miles a gallon in 20 years, We need it NOW! We should have electric or solar cars or some thing.

  • he has already been energy advisor. as well as chief of mission to the united nations and he has served as a great governor for my people in new mexico. he is the most qualified candidate. i vote based on policy, not the person's party affiliation.

  • laws forcing companies to bend to the will of the federal government sounds a bit commie. i think tax shelters would have the same effect. maybe slower, but any radical change can cause major economic upheaval in such a major industry, such as energy. and this industry spills over into another major industry, the transportation, i.e. air, sea, rail and automobile.

  • Good video!

We need solar energy, wind energy etc.

Invest mony enstead of in wappons in modern clean technologies!!

  • Especially when we've seen the government pay farmers to not grow crops, because there are surpluses! Why is it that for every solution offered there are people saying, no we can't do that. It's like the Kennedys opposing wind powered generators anywhere within sight of their mansions.
