try putting a fue bowls at varing levals on the floor is prob to low and he/she might be more comfortable with it up higher. we use to have a black cat that would insist we leave a faucet on trickle for him that was his way he would drink water it had to be running.

Finally someone who has seen the same, my little bengal girl does the same thing, cross's her leggs off to oneside and drinks it looks very awkward lol.
