The bases of the moon, One side believes we did go to the moon and found that someone was already there. The disclosure group spoke of this also and along with the airbrushed NASA pictures. If aliens wanted us dead. We would be dead. They are protecting us, but it is not clear why? I think they know how vast the univers is and that they want to fill t up with their own. We are their own. They injected apes with their DNA, hence, "the missing link."

The 'monolith' in '2001 a space odyssey', is a story of an advanced alien civilization, that put these 'monoliths' on all moons orbiting planets that have life. When the life is advanced enough, these 'monoliths' would signal back. Except they cut out the first 8min of the film, usually, that would explain that! Anyway, fictional, but still, the concept is similar, to what you suggest. They are watching us.
