Crossing Delancey: Bubbie Plays Cupid

Excerpts from the romantic comedy, Crossing Delancey. Old world Bubbie (Yiddish theater actress, Reizl Bozyk) is concerned about her modern granddaughter Izzy's (actress Amy Irving) singleness and sets to do something about it....

Though Bubbie is not the central character in this story, she is the catalyst for the main plot and the most interesting personality. Though she holds on to old world traditions and values, she embraces them with a light and joyful heart and goes to show that old fashion ways don't have to be stuffy and boring - it is all about the attitude in which you live it out.

A word of warning - a lot of things happen between the scene where Sam asks Izzy out to the time of the last scene so if you're curious:

1) as to what happened in between,
2) about what Izzy was doing with another guy when she was on the phone,
3) whether or not Izzy will get home in time before Bubbie drives Sam crazy
