From the Hopewell Valley Central High School production of "The Sound of Music," late February 2008. "How Can Love Survive," which is not included in the movie version, helps establish Elsa and the Captain's relationship, and "Uncle Max's" character, in the first act. The duet features Sarah Krauss (Frau Schroeder) and Rob Meyer (Max Detweiler). Tommy Seabrook is Captain Von Trapp.

  • I'm going to be Elsa in my school's Sound of Music production, and this video made me really excited about the role! :) This Elsa is awesome!

  • as someone mentioned The orchestra here is very good -- full,, rich and of course obviously large compared to other performances I have heard on YT Excellent!! The tempo is good and keeps the brilliant music flowing , The female lead here is musical,, and pretty to boot!! A+

  • Frau Schraeder's voice is spectacular! I hope she is pursuing a professional singing career, as she will be serious competition for the next generation of really talented young vocalists. BTW, did anyone notice how good the orchestra here is? (despite the poor 'miking' job)

    I'm going to Max in this year's production at my high school. I have a feeling I'm going somewhere completely different than this one. He's very good though.

  • Oh, and when they opened the curtain on the ventral house the set got applauded, it was completely built by students

  • I saw this show at the high school, my friends were in it. It was amazing!
