My wife is a vet here in Chattanooga, and we have two danes. We were lucky enough to catch the elder of the two early enough to staple her stomach. We stapled the pup's when we neutered him. It's an awful thing to have happen, but it does happen. Thanks for posting your danes!

@Brpanter967 i have to agree with you. i'm not going to say i don't believe them.... but i'd want to see this dog on a scale to prove it.... i have a dane and she's 130 and still growing. Best dogs ever!

The camera angle makes them look similar. I was there and the big male was very much larger than the female. It was like looking at a black bear compared to a big dog.

Isabell died from bloat Last week. She was 10 years old.
I blam the vet for not giving best advise on treating her.
If i could redo the night, I would have had "mylanta gas" on hand and a 7 ft tube and put it down to the stomach. I also would have found a vet that would teach you how to insert the tube and perhaps a needle into to stomach to relieve the gas.

The male dog lost weight and is now 230, His name is Clancey and can be seen at the owners car repair business most days.
