While being interviewed by Dr. Juliana Brixey from the School of Biomedical Informatics at UTHealth in Second Life, Dr. Scott Erdley shared his thoughts and insights about this innovative immersive technology.
Dr. Erdley has professional interests in the areas of nursing information, information seeking, and use of high-fidelity simulation in education and health care informatics. His current and past research projects include studies of nursing information and knowledge development. Dr. Erdley has taught classes about health care informatics as well as the intersection of technology and care in acute care environments to undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Erdley has an interest in the ethics in SL.
Dr. Erdley holds the position of Special Projects Simulation Education Specialist at the Behling Simulation Center, University at Buffalo, SUNY. He is co-author of a book chapter titled "Emerging Technologies and the Generation of Knowledge," which is available in Nursing Informatics and the Foundation of Knowledge.
