Both their albums have a powerful guitar sound and a strong vocal with unusual lyrics. What's not to like? This lot, The Auteurs and possibly Kingmaker - the most under-appreciated of guitar bands of the nineties. Thanks for the Jack Adaptor tip mars'.

They make my life so FCUKing beautiful, truly disfigured by the spirit of rock n roll, a great injustice they weren't huge. Have a look at Fred's new band Jack Adaptor too
