Thank you for your comments! Things have been going well for me and it was really helped to talk about it. I find a lot of strength in all the stories I hear. Cancer will kill if you let it. Yes I had to have a full Thyroidectomy. It will be the #3 video, I have been too tired to finish it. I go in for my scan today to see where the Cancer is. I am holding strong!

Hi Houtee, Did you happen to do any research on coconut milk (the canned kind you get at the Asian section or Asian stores) and not the one in the dairy section of the grocery store.

The label says ingredients contain coconut milk and water. I have been a bit apprehensive in using it so have done so sparingly,but it really makes my smoothie taste so good and I have been using it in my coffee too. It's been a lifesaver for me. I sure would hate to hear that it is off limits.

Thank you for making this video! I had a thyroidectomy on August 1 and I am now on day 12 of the low-iodine diet. I have lost four pounds since starting on this diet and 9 pounds total since I had the surgery.  I keep finding conflicting information on what I can eat. I have been eating a lot of bananas and I was surprised to hear you say no bananas. I was also under the impression that I couldn't eat any canned foods at all. I hope all has went well for you and that you are feeling better.

thanks for a great video. My girlfriend is doing this diet for the third time...she's on the last week though, so only a few more days before she can eat real food again. Hope all worked out OK for you. stay strong, sounds like you have a great support team!

I wish you well. Two weeks ago I had full thyroidectomy and next week have to have lymph nodes removed.

My daughter had the full thryoidectomy in 2008 at 20 years old, she is now married and has a 19 month old year daughter. I'll send you a message.
