  • "Pretties For You" definitely had a strong influence on me when I was a teenager. I loved the album so much that I recored it on cassette and played it for our relatives who live in Mexico, and they thought it was weird!

  • @MrSimianca You are apparently too young to know what "sold out" really means...

  • @mlong1954 I am right there with you mlong......

  • @Skulldini You are right, that is a little harsh. Love it to Death, I think surprised even them. 'Killer' was like part 2, but made to exploit the success of 'Love it to Death'. 'Schools Out' and 'Billion Dollar Babies' is where I lost them. They may be their highest selling albums, but the format was getting stale for me. Then Alice leaves the band. I have never bought one of his solo records, yet own(ed) the first 5. I still listen to the first 4, but mostly the first 3.

  • @mlong1954 Well actually, THOSE two particular albums of yours there, Love It To Death and Killer, were where they first began going a little bit into the mainstream! THATS when they began haveing official hit songs ( like namely I'm Eighteen, Is It My Body, Under My Wheels ), but I still wouldn't say THOSE albums are entirely comercial or "sell outs", .. they just featured some comercial songs on them, thats all. And they've / he's done THAT same thing with just about every album made since !

  • Call it going commercial then. the band was really good up till they split and it became AC's band. Early AC fans liked what they were doing even though it was not main stream then.

Critics call his Dead Babies his best work. I say Love it to Death and Killer by a mile!

  • @mlong1954 Alice STILL hasn't sold out! What kind of drugs are you on? listen to Brutal Planet

  • @warpigs1970 Up to their 3rd album, before they sold out.....
