@BStomato I just meant that actual batteries, not electric cars. batteries are a big thing holding us back. Phones dont last a day, cars do but people still see 100 miles as a small number (even 50 miles per charge would suffice for most of the average persons days) and if batteries were cheap and effecient then we could harness solar to use over night. Im not sure of the physical limitations of batteries but i hope theres still more to be had. Yes tesla is going in the right direction.

@paintballgundown8 pardon for asking, but what do you refer as to "batteries [...] sucking so bad"? I can understand the hate for those silly and ugly $80 000 electric cars that can't even go past 40 mph... but I believe Tesla is making a great step in the right direction. :)

The petrol engine will never die until there is simply no more gas. Racing will continue on it's way. It may downsize. It may get slower. But it will still be there unless batteries stop sucking so bad.
