What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

  • 2.5 stars? christian votebot attack?

  • @shorty962

Indeed, all my videos from July got hit by one. Surprisingly the votebot still considered them "good" by the rating system standards =P

  • I applause you commitment to question other people beliefs, I assume that you question you beliefs too.

  • Of course, that's why I research what I enjoy and I enjoy learning more about whats around me.

I might be playing a song perfectly on bass that I figured out myself, but I'll always go around and change my fingering and quite possibly even the entire song if I feel I could improve on it. Same with everything I do. But anyway, yes I do question my own beliefs, however nobody has given me any reason to doubt my beliefs.

  • @jake44514 Can we prove there isn't? If we can't prove there isn't(No matter unlikely it is) it's just more rational to say I don't know.

  • Agnosticism is illogical. It makes as much sense as religion, suggesting that we "cannot prove there is not a god", which is nonsense. We can't prove there isn't a Tooth Fairy, but does anyone say they don't know if the Tooth Fairy is real?

  • @residentatheist Is too early to tell, As one researcher puts it ""there are many disputable aspects to the theory, including the abrupt shift of scale between aeons and the assumption, central to the theory, that all particles will become massless in the very distant future. He points out, for example, that there is no evidence that electrons decay"". There are hundreds of theopries out there on how the universe came to be only the BB has withstood the test of time, we''ll see...

  • @dejesusluisx There is scientific evidence for the big bang. This does no make it the beginning of the universe and there is also evidence that this was not the first big bang but one in an unlimited number of such events.

  • @residentatheist There is scientific evidence that at some point in time, over 14 bil.yrs ago, the universe was a point of matter that started to expand or "inflate", so the universe did began to exist. There's reason to believe it was a conscious force, no matter what pejorative epithets you use to describe it, because an unconscious force would be a repetitive act, hence producing multiple universes. Since there's no evidence of any other universes, He is the best explanation

  • @gigi1bokus I would say there definitely isn't a dragon in the garage because dragons don't exist.

  • @dejesusluisx You bypassed the third and only rational option. The universe has always existed and even if it was brought into existence by an external force there is no reason to believe your man made imaginary friend was the cause.

  • @gigi1bokus Where were you during 911 when these "believers" were flying passenger planes into buildings. Make no mistake about it. They claim there god(s) are real alright and if you don't believe them they will kill you.

  • @residentatheist If you put it that way i would say there is a huge difference between atheist and agnostics, why would you care what anybody else believes or doesnt believes and are you saying you think religious people are lying about believing in God?

Its not like they are putting it up as a fact, they are just saying they believe and choose to have faith.

  • I dont see a difference between atheism and religious people in that both are religious, atheism is a religion. But with regards to the "dragon in the garage" argument, although i wouldnt believe him i wouldnt say that it wasnt possible, just not probable and if i couldnt see it i wouldnt say it was logically sound to say that there definatly isnt a dragon in his garage.
