FILM EVENT SUMMARY:
Following the same procedures as the previous Hamilton 24-Hour Film Festival, the hamilton24 film competition is open to filmmakers of all ages and abilities. Filmmakers may register as individuals or as teams. One member from each will be required to attend the event kick-off meeting at 8 PM on Friday, April 30. At this meeting, teams will receive the three elements that must be included in their films: a line of dialogue, a prop, and a location. All teams will be required to use the same elements. The kick-off meeting will end at exactly 9 PM, from which point teams have only 24 hours to produce a short film of 5 minutes or less in length. Completed films will be handed-in to festival staff between 8 - 9 PM on Saturday, May 1. The top ten films will be selected for screening at the festival gala event at 8 PM on Friday, May 7th. Celebrity jury members will evaluate the films, and give live comments on each production. Major awards will be given for the best films.
