SelectPlusAP Top StoriesAP Top StoriesThe Associated PressHere's the latest news for Tuesday June 10th: President Bush in Europe; Barack Obama and John McCain discuss the economy; Salmonella outbreak with tomatoes; Jim McKay's funeral.[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE]This is A-P NewsMinute. President Bush has joined leaders from Europe for the annual European summit. This is expected to be the president's final trip to Europe. Slovenia -- the site of this year's summit -- was also the site of the president's first trip to Europe as President. Both Barack Obama and John McCain are talking about the economy. Obama has kicked off a two-week trek across the country, where he says he will focus on economic issues. Recent polls suggest the economy is now the number one issue with American voters. The death of a Texas man may be connected to a salmonella outbreak linked to tomatoes. Another 145 people have been infected. The outbreak is linked to three types of tomatoes and has caused some restaurants -- like McDonald's and Burger King -- to pull tomatoes from its menus. The Food and Drug Administration says it is working hard and fast to find the source of the outbreak. Legendary sportscaster Jim Mckay will be laid to rest today. He was the host of A-B-C's "wide World of Sports" for decades, and covered the 1972 Munich Olympics where Israeli athletes were taken hostage and killed. McKay died Saturday at the age of 87.___ ___, The Associated Press with AP NewsMinute. • screw Kennedy...worst Prez. ever.

  • Yeah, but you would actually need some friends first.

  • It is well known that Kennedy had chronic back pain. He was injured when he was a PT Commander during WWII. You make it sound like he was doing drugs for recreation. Figures. What has happened to this country that everyone wants to smear someone? Pity.

  • Wow this guy is a slippery person associated to Obama.

Tell me who your friends are and I can tell yo who you are@

    YO

  • Not real sure what you are talking about. EADS just had 22 top executives indited. Their A-380 is years behind schedule. It's difficult to land in a light wind and sometimes the tail drags when it's taking off. We have never outsourced any part of our Air Force before. So you smear JFK and accuse Obama of drugs. Typical Republican smear tactic. Republicans, for all their God words, have lost the moral high ground. Now they insist on staying in the sewer. Sad, really.

  • Because there is so little there. Perhaps you should look up "McCain lobby's the Air Force". EADS gave money (first time ever in a US presidential race) to McCain and he was so grateful, he lobbied the Air Force to move 40,000 hi tech jobs to France, which they did. Go McCain. France loves you.
