My band (I'm the vocals) playing our newest song at the Brewery in Raleigh.

Here are the lyrics:

All was silent that night as he knelt down,
His knees sinking deep into the mud,
as if the very atmosphere around him was pressing in...
Impatiently hungry for his sacred life.
And all of the sudden,
as if strings attached to his hands had been pulled taught,
his arms shot up towards the sky...
and exposing his naked face to the rain, he screamed to the heavens:
"Take this cup from me!

But no answer rang out,
no clouds parted, no fire fell... only silence.
And as one man,
with tears on his face, and the weight of the world on his shoulders stood to his feet,
he looked to find that I had been sleeping all along.

And I watched them tear at his back
Ripping off chunks of his flesh, and soaking the ground with his blood

And in a moment where all time and space seemed to cease to exist I heard him cry

And I sat there, tortured...
Knowing I had sentenced my love to death.

I know this is supposed to be all Christian and stuff, but I interpretate this as quite Atheistic... and I like it!

Actually, the last part is written from God's point of view, not from mine. I can see how it would seem Atheistic and quite emotionally charged in a different way if it was from mine. Instead the whole song resulted from my realization that God is always bleeding himself dry for me, while I spit on his face with my actions. I can never even grasp the amount of love it would take to do that for someone.
