Your magnets arent good enough. You need neodymium magnets that you can get for cheap, or extract from old computer hard drive. You also need to put a lot more magnets. It kinda do a square wheel effect.

1.the v pot you are using i used 1 time it will fail

s the ssg guide lines would help u domt assume any thing hint fron zz is a i9 inch nonmagnet wheel-16-20 bar mag. if u want to get started i sugest join bedini monopole club .that coil is [if u got is a club or rick ssg it made for more mass in wheel @magnets

I wanted to do a scrap motor and entirely did it. Of course I tryed 2 weeks before it even resonate. The key was a lower pulse rate to obtain the right frequency - resistor to 0 then replaced with 1Kohm
I managed not to smoke any transistor: Neon bulb between Emitor and Colector & 2W12V bulb series with resistor - lights up when the resistor is 0.
Oh, and a last advice: rotate faster to start the motor - you need 150mA and at least 5V in the Base of the (no matter) Tr to cuplate
Don`t give up!

Main is humming, all right, but if I short the resistor to 0 the humming stops, the motor works just fine but speeds up, sucking a greater current though, and the output voltage drops a little.
There are a lot of variables here, as nobody can actually measure the relation between:
- wire diameter/conductivity constant
- disk diameter
- capacitance & inductance of the conecting wires
- inductance of the coils
- power AND SECTION of the magnets
