if someone never bathes or cleans themselves for that long, wouldn't get sick with some sort of skin rot. I'd imagine one would become itchy from lack of bathing and scratch them selves till they got wounds.

Can't bathe, shave, cut your hair or shorten your nails for 7 years? That would be a torture! But torture is what demons and the devil enjoy.

Demons have a bit of a sadistic idea of fairness, don't they? This one promises gold, but it's clear he's hoping Yohan will drop dead from poor hygene so he can claim his soul. I think the suffering Yohan goes through during the story is just icing on the cake for the demon, right?

Sounds more like a crow. Part of the original sound effects track from Nippon Animation. If not, it's some crazy synthesizer used by Shuki Levy.

It was originally created in Japan by Nippon Animation. However, during the translation, they may have changed some things around so that they made more sense or don't appear as dark. Also keep in mind Christianity was the major religion for years in Europe for the longest time.

I don't. I doubt anyone actually does atleast in terms of it being in English. I'm sure it is available in Japanese though but I have yet to see it.
