Snow in Alonissos Greek Island,December 2006,Exceptionnal snow.

Generally in Alonissos Greek island it does not snow every winter as it did 50-60years before.But still, once in two or three years it snows in December or January for 1 or 2 days.Usually the snow melts after 2-3 days as the quantity is less than 5 centimetres.However,in the year 2006 there was heavy snow in December which took a week or two to melt.It is quite interesting to see the landscape and the coast of Alonissos Greek island (summer destination)covered with snow!!Very unusual as Alonissos with its mild mediterranean winters is characterized by its sunny and very bright days.Alonissos is a jewel in the middle of the Aegean Sea.
