The term 'parachute kids' refers to an upper middle class asian american phenomenon where immigrant parents leave their children in American suburbs while they spend most of their time working overseas. These kids are often left unattended without parental supervision, free to do whatever they like as long as they get decent grades. The short film, "Parachute Kids," follows Kelvin, a hedonistic 'parachute kid' who attempts to reach out to his mother during Christmas time in the isolating landscape of Los Angeles.
