Unequal Justice - Karachi Women Prison
Government of Sindh has constituted a Committee for the Welfare of Women prisoners (CWWP) comprising Justice ® Nasir Aslam Zahid as Chairman, Advocate General Sindh as member and Deputy Secretary( prisons) Home Department as secretary in July 2004 through Home Department's notification no. HD(PRS-I)/7-2/2003, dated 21st January, 2004. The Committee has established a Legal Aid Office for female prisoners adjacent to the special prison for women, Karachi, Pakistan.
The terms of reference of the committee are:
• Provide legal assistance to women prisoners free of cost
• Secure the services of competent counsels to provide legal representation to women on
regular/need basis.
• Streamline procedures and improve conditions of all jails in general and women jails in particular
• Assist in the management of women jails to
ensure the welfare of both under- trial and
convicted women prisoners.
• To work for the welfare of women prisoners
and their children living with their mothers in jails.
I hate religion, women are equal and should enjoy the same rights, it's just in my country (UK) they now take the piss out of men with no reply because those men will just be taken the piss out of. This is CRAP!
