On the ocassion of the dedication of the Harold Edgerton Educational Center in Aurora, Nebraska (September 1995), Dr Kim Vandiver presents an overview of the life and work of Edgerton to students gathered at the Aurora High School. Vandiver is the Director of MIT's Edgerton Center in Boston. Edgerton was an educator who spent most of his years teaching and doing research there. Edgerton was the inventor of the strobe light. Through his work he inspired new ways of looking at the world around us, as shown in a series of astounding photographs presented here.

I think its amazing that Edgerton can be considered a photographer now.
He is clearly a scientist first, but like a true photographer, he sees the world differently, showing things that we would never normally see.
Not to mention his rapatronic camera photographs look incredible

He was one of my teachers--probably the best I've ever had. Warm, folksy, brilliant. Kim was a lot younger then, too!
