  • @tperr63

    you're right!

  • Zeppelin is the Bach of the 70's.

  • @Kazyman i know many people who went to see zep AND HEAR!!!!! and said they were amazing!! its hard to be amazing 80% of the time!!!!!

  • Robert I'm sure John would be very happy if you made a world tour for the last time, like a farewell tour, with some new songs by the band, a last album, with his son Jason in this, common which parent wouldn't want the best for their son, and Jason is a brilliant drummer, common do this for charity also, for africa.

  • @Kazyman Thx for that unique insight on fruit & veggie alkalizing's extending the life & youth of the voice. As Robert (& Jimmy Page, to detox from drink & drugs & carpel tunnel) have yet years to attain and enjoy a Jack LaLanne optimal senior age, let's hope they apply your advice. And here's another tip from Jack LaLanne (on a YouTube clip > his 1950s tv exercise show) -- his extreme resistance exercises fast work wonders to tone all muscles, even facial. Be great to extend LZ show life.

  • @Kazyman Page definitely slammed down the booze and was addicted to heroin during the LZ years. You're right, it was hit or miss with him. When he was off, he sounded terrible. But when he was on he was brilliant

  • @Kazyman Another thing was that Page was a question mark each time he played. I have no idea what he was on, or drunk? Dunno, but it was hit or miss with him. There's a clip on Youtube..Heartbreaker....& my musical friends & I were actually embarrassed for him when he did his guitar solo. I mean...wtf was he (or THOUGHT he was) doing? Total crash & burn for about 10 agonizing seconds which NO MUSICIAN wants to see a fellow musician suffer. I mean...WHEW!!...WHAT?!? Anyway this is the legacy.

  • @benvye Well I'm certainly glad for you; that you had a great experience each time you saw them. I don't think Page overdubbed quite as much at the onset, so I can believe they sounded great musically as well as vocally. What kills the voice (besides singing incredibly high & out of one's normal range) is an acid rich diet. I believe if Plant alkalized his body with fruits & veggies, his voice would've lasted a lot longer. I know, as I've been a vocalist for 30 years & sing like I'm twenty some.

  • @Kazyman I saw them February 1969 on their first tour of the US at a small venue in Chicago. They sounded every bit as good as their first album. Saw them several years later and, yes, they had the energy but Plant's voice didn't hit the high notes like he used to. I still think they were awesome to see, just the experience. IMHO

  • I really dug Zep as a studio band & a lot of their tunes were incredible, but as a live band they were always disappointing. Plant practically talked his way through most songs even way back when (I was there) & Page did all he could to make up for all his overdubbing in the studio, but it didn't pan out most the time. If you went to SEE Zep, it was good. If you went to HEAR Zep...it was sucked.
