  • is it safe to keep these eels in groups? casue i'm a begginer to this stuff and just want a tank consisting of eels and maybe so other cool fish, but i wanted about 5 eels all of the same breed

  • You could, but I would go with firer eels, tiretrack , peacock eels etc... These guys get up to 5 feet long

  • how big is he now? and how long did it take before he started to feed? I've had mine 2 weeks now and i think he's only had a few pieces of nighcrawler

  • hes about 12 inches long now and hes eating everything from krill to dry cichlid pellets. He started feeding right away for me.How big is your eel?,Mine loves carnivore sinking pellets and has been eating them since he was pretty young

  • 3-5 feet males tend to stay around the 3 foot range, while females get larger

  • do you need a filter

  • How did you get yours? I have been trying for a long time and would really love an A. rostrata

    Please let me know

  • i have a eel well hes not mine but he lives in a lake on my property and he will eat anything from peices of ham to chunks of raw meat and sausages but hes really big a bit bigger than a meter

  • are those guppies???

  • These eels like to eat in the dark, you should probably have some sort of cave for it to hide in during the day.

  • can anyone tell me why fire eels are illegle in australia queensland thnx

  • Hey just thought I'd let you know my guy is feeding now(took him almost 3 weeks to start eating). He started on nightcrawlers but is taking goldfish, shrimp, and crayfish too now.

  • My eel is about 20 inches...maybe a little less. I offered nightcrawlers and at first he was spitting them out but now sometimes they disappear. I'll have to investigate to see if it's simply him kicking them up while swimming or if he's actually eating them.

i also have offered bloodworms and some clam in a bottle he can fit in but with no luck
