I luv sonic booms, I remember the first time when the I think it was the discovery, it landed in California station like 3 years ago, I was at the mall and then i heard this two awesome loud booms that shook the small game stop place. awesome!

Like everyone else says, this is the best sonic boom video of the shuttle I've been able to find! Good work! The sound is awesome because there's nothing to absorb the energy between you, the water, and the sky!

From 1:35-1:39 you can see what appears to be the shuttle (or a possible supersonic jet) sweeping across the middle of the sky, its tiny but fast. Then at 3:00 the sonic boom is heard. Sound travels at approx. 1 mile per 5 seconds, this means the shuttle or was approx. 16 miles away from the observer. From the lack of the cameraman following the flying object, I assume he didn't even notice it as well the others viewers.

JCM the super sonic jet that you are talking about between 1:35 and 1:39 is an osprey. A bird.
The cameraman was quite aware of the location of the shuttle, he zooms in on the shuttle at 6:15 just like the description of the video says.
