Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth can cause a number of conditions including irritable bowel syndrome and recently restless legs syndrome. Recently, a connection of disturbances in the gastrointestinal bacterial contents have been associated with rosacea. Antibiotic used to treat the gut bacteria (rifaximin or Xifaxan) has had success treated rosacea.
