Ommegang Tripel Perfection, 8.9% ABV

"Tripel Perfection. An audacious claim based on three years work at happily perfecting our take on a tripel. 8.9% ABV, lush aromas, full body, elegant tastes -- with a hint of spicing -- and a perfect body paired with lively effervescence.
The tripel is among the most popular of Belgian ales. Brewed with simple ingredients and fierce attention, there is little room for error, but plenty of opportunity. Perfection isn't easily achieved -- but once achieved it is always memorable."

  • I have a bottle of this to review shortly. Lidney also has really nice things to say about this one.

  • @TheEndosymbiosis I'm not big on tripels but this is one of the better American tripels I've had.

  • Autumn hit here, cold and rainy. You sit outside in a t-shirt in that lovely San Diego weather, damn yoooou....lol.

Sounds like a nice Tripel. I have never seen any Ommegang beers here in Europe, oddly enough since they are now owned by Duvel. Great review Ryan! Cheers!

  • @TheMasterOfHoppets Haha. It's about 32C right now as I type this.

It's a nice tripel. I'm not a big fan of tripels actually but I really enjoy this one. That's weird that you can't get their beers over there.

  • Very solid brewery, Aphrodite is an interesting fruit beer. My favorite is Hennepin then Three Phils.

  • @FSVR54 I haven't had Aphrodite but I do enjoy Hennepin and Three Phils. I need to get a bottle of Three Phils to review.

  • @CBABitz Yeah, should be a good time to open it.

  • @dorf68 Yeah, $8 or $9, I can't remember.

  • @kbuzz26 Thanks! I do my best but some reviews can run on the longer side.

  • I have a bottle of this in my cellar (about a year old). I'll probably crack it open soon.
