  • Great Video! Very helpful!

Personally, I'll stick with my Ambassadors and use removable dampeners as needed. I can't afford to purchase new heads for everything I do. If I'm playing a Latin/Ska/Reggae/Surf Rock vibe I don't want anything on there. If I need my snare to sound like a pillow, I'll add some Moon Gel or Tape. Removable is good. Keeps my sound versatile.

Anyway, that's totally beyond what I wanted to comment. I just wanted to say this was a great video! Really intuitive comparison!

  • Powerstroke 3 <3 :)

  • I like the powerstroke. It doesn't have the "ping" that the others have, just a pure beefy snare sound.

  • I'm an evans guy but much respect to Remo and their quality products. I'm a fan of the PowerStroke 3.

  • @XTheSonofTheSunX yeah it sounds the best

  • evans EC or G1 coated

  • Thanks (:

  • are they all tuned to the same point?

  • Personally the Coated Ambassador has the best "metallic" sound that I like to get out of my steel snare. It also isn't too muffled like the controlled sound head, but rather has a good ring as it tapers off.
