  • He didn't say that cranberry juice has too much sugar added. The fruit, cranberry, has very high amounts of fructose. That doesn't mean it's sweet, it just means that it has a lot of fructose. He discusses it more the article, "Fructose: May Be Almost as Hazardous to Your Health as Soda." You can find it on his website.

  • It isn't even just that cranberry doesn't help because of the sugar, it's also because it is acidic, and bacteria adapt and thrive in acidic environments. The one good thing about cranberry (but the acidic part may just block that out) is that it keeps the bacteria from attaching to the cell walls in your bladder by sticking to it first. E Coli, the most common perpetrator in UTIs, regularly adapts and thrives in an acidic environment. You actually want your urine to be an alkaline pH.

  • I have to agree with D Mannose I just recently discovered it and works really really well and fast !

  • You mention D-Manose but not the amount necessary - I am tired of incomplete info.

  • Message to the censor: I've been a fan & regular customer of Dr Mercola's for many years. i'm disappointed that you didn't approve my previous truthful, on-topic post. It's saddens me to question the integrity of this organization. I felt is was only fair to bring this to your attention, allowing an explanation or correction before I mention the incident elsewhere. Thank you.

  • Doc, Did you ever actually drink some -real- cranberry juice? Your article's claim that it contains too much sugar is simply impossible: Real cranberry juice is -not- sweet, not at -all-! Perhaps there's -some- sugar in it, but it -can't- be much, not if sugar's sweet.
