No the nitrogen doesn't do anything for the engine it's the oxygen that has the effect. Nitrous just sounds cooler :D. It adds oxygen, it doesn't replace it.

Oh yea and you would put the turbo way out of it's efficiency range and surge the crap out of it if you were at it's efficiency limit of 420hp and then shot a 150 shot of nitrous through the engine all the way through the RPM range. This would wear it the fuck out quick.

Nitrous is like insta-spool juice for turbo's because it introduces so much oxygen into the cylinders the exhaust gas moves much faster. A 150 shot would definitely get the turbo movin immediately but you would want it to shut off when the turbo is at 3/4 maximum boost and let the turbo take care of the rest. You use a boost pressure switch to do that.
