m3tatweening phase 001 - Stream of collective consciousness animation - Fnord/B3ta 2003

In January 2003 I began the first experiments in m3tatweening. Tweening is when you fill in the gaps
between two keyframes in an animation, but in this case it refers to the unrestricted
creative animations people use to get from their start image to their end image.

I wondered what would happen if you got a lot of random images to use as keyframes,
assigned them a random order and then got different people to tween from one to the
next as animated gifs with no idea what everyone else was doing.

The end result would be a non-stop stream of consciousness from the collective mind
of those that took part. I decided to see what this would look like.

Phase 1 you see here was made in just a few days from animated gifs and only later was some music added by some other b3tans. I didn't know whether it would really work at all and I got carried away giving out the keyframes, only realising after 21 people the scale of what I was attempting.

I had M3tatweening Phase 3 up on youtube for a long time but it's been removed recently with several other vids of mine for 'music infringement'.
