Yes, they did up grade the machine. Now you can find the rate of the fare right on the button. You can determine the rate of the fare on Fare table next to the machine.

good video. Before even getting inside remember the end station you are trying to get to because after going through the turn styles that is where you need to know this information cause it will be the sign you follow up the stairs to your destination. If you forgot I think there is a map inside the turn styles but if not just ask the main booth. Make sure when you put the ticket in the turn style machine the arrow should be facing in to the station and the arrow should be facing up.

Why does this twat keep slapping his hands together at the beginning of this? It is most off putting. btw The BTS Sky train is fantastic though very over crowded at the rush times. Avoid traveling at rush hour on anything in Bangkok. Plan your journey ahead and DO NOT TRAVEL AT PEEK TIMES ANYWHERE in Bangkok.
