12 yo Standardbred mare. Raced, pastured, but never ridden until July 1, 2007. She will be a great riding horse for just about anyone, but first needs ground school and schooled under saddle. Schooling her would be a great project for the novice rider.

  • Hey; i think this is absolutly fantastic that you are doing this. I hate people that judge standardbreds and i wish i would adopt or save ones life. If you want you can have a look at my video's of my standardbred Perry. Him and myself have started bonding so much, and im so happy to see other people giving standardbreds a go

  • Thank you. We have two available right now.

  • Thank you.

  • i want to buy her but i need to ask ,would she do well in trail rides and does her saddles and bridles come with her?....i love her

  • Standardbreds are great for exactly this reason. If you're a moron, they'll just ignore you. Idiot-safe.

  • me and my friend r going to open a small standardbred rescue

  • Aww bless! My standardbred was exactly the same when first started undersaddle after being driven.

We got around it by having a friend lead her, and me squeezing her sides, using voice aids (She was driven using voice) and eventually she got it. Standardbreds are very smart, mine is the quickest thinker I've ever met, I love this breed. SO amazing in so many ways.

  • i one many harness horses and stanardbreds that i ride the difference is standarbreds have a gait called a pace

  • دخول الرجل وموقع الفخذ خطأ والضهر خطأ ومسكت (اللجام) الحبل خطأ وموقع اليدين خطأ ): ليه حاطين الفيديو

  • uhm...what do you mean exactly?

To the untrained eye, a horse looks the same as any other horse. It's little difference that seperate alot of breeds.Thouroghbreds and Standardbreds can look the same to non-horsey people, but there are some major differences. Also keep in mind, that no two horses are really alike, just like people. To Stanardbreds my have completely different builds, even though they are the same breeds.

  • She's a gorgeous little mare!

I know this video is old and for all I know, you could have done this stuff before

but with my experience with O.T Standardbreds is once you have all the groundwork done, once you get on and they don't respond to the leg aids, lightly tap them on the butt with a whip or rein at the same time that you are squeezing with your legs and eventually they get it.

  • The reason why I suggest tapping their hind end at the same time is because thats what they were originally trained.

  • Pardon me for asking, but what are the physical differences between this horse and some other breeds? I can't find a site that shows it, expect this one picture that had two horses of the exact same color and it didn't say which horse was which, could you tell me?
