Since making this video, has your choice in shoes change? I prefer a low top shoe, but I do have a pair of high tops I use for cross country work for the extra support. I like your ideas here.

@Tuts999 Thanks a lot man! You're a cool dude. Discovered this channel yesterday looking for info on the Grafton Loop. Watched every video on your channel except for the winter trail!

Because they're terribly comfortable; Was that a Princess Bride Reference? If so your video got even better!!

What type of material is your hat made out of?
minimaddog16 4 months ago
@minimaddog16 Good question. I believe it's polypropylene. The hat is made by a company from NH called Ragged Mountain Equipment. The stuff they make there is of a higher quality than you will find anywhere else. Wish I could make money sayin stuff like that.

zip off pants are a bad choice for the trail. nobody wears rain pants unless they're doing laundry. how often do you plan on being above tree line? a minimalist wouldn't use an inflatable pad or huge boots

@dtdude42 Actually, my zip off pants were a great help due to the fact that I had an extra full layer in the winter, and when it warmed up, I had shorts. I found it very useful to have them. Also, my boots protected my feet much better than my trail runners did, so even through I hiked the Vermont Long Trail with trail runners, I'm giong back to boots. The inflatable pad is so I can sleep on my side, which really helped things. It was about 4 ounces heavier than a customized foam pad.

Wonderful advice....I usually pack far too much, something I need to work on.
I have heard masks are rather comfortable, some dread pirate mention that. I've been meaning to pick one up.

I was hoping someone would pick up on that.
