Jake Shimabukuro, John Nugent and The Bob Sneider Trio Jam on While My Guitar Gently Weeps at a Late Night Jam Session at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival on June 17th 2009. The smooth sounding saxaphone is from the Festival's co-producer John Nugent who is responsible for the programming of this incomparable gathering of musicians and fans. Along with the co-producer Marc Iacona (who is another accomplished musician), John makes sure this festival swing, sings and runs so smoothly that it gets right into your soul. For nine days in June, the best thing happening in the Jazz Universe comes to town - with performers from around the world playing to appreciative audiences in eight or more venues. All of these are within easy walking distance. A hallmark is the "Club Pass" that for one price gets admission to the intimate clubs, churches and performance halls for all nine days. On top of the paid admission performances, there is also an incredible array of free stages filling the streets (especially "Jazz Street" ) with happy fest goers. The festival motto is "It's not who know, it's who you don't". One thing you can be sure though..this festival is hot and getting hotter every year.
