@Hunter63176 Besides - you can't compare Stalingrad siege with Fall Weiss. Stalingrad armies were supported from other bank of the river, while Poles were completely sorrounded. And Stalingrad battle was all about urban fight, where Germans couldn't use their tanks to full potential. Urban fight is whole different story - even Warsaw insurgents (poorly armed, trained and few in numbers) were able to hold for 2 months.

@Hunter63176 Ever heard about Ribbentrop - Molotov Pact? Soviets PLANNED division of Central and Eastern Europe with nazis.
So what that Western Ukraine and Western Belorussia was russian territory till 1920? Poland also was, does it means that it hasn't right for independence? Piłsudski allied himself with Ukrainians under Petlura to ensure the freedom of Ukraine (call it even buffer state if you want). Ukrainians failed miserably, even we barely made it.

Some facts about

Soviet army attacked Poland, when polish army was crushed.Poland was crushed mostly by germans.Soviet army occupied only Western Ukraine and Western Belorussia.Lithuanian army(Lithuania was not occupied by USSR in 1939) occupied Vilno and some polish areas.
P.S.Some facts about Western Ukraine and Western Belorussia(Soviet occupation zone in Poland). It was russian territory till 1920.

"WE ARE THERE, WHERE ARE MOST SMOKE AND FIRE"...Now thats a russian General.

@1oden2dva3tree I've read about it in "Newsweek History". I don't know if it's true or just Soviet propaganda. Besides, wasn't Tom a cat?:)
-
@Kalasanty11 Their names are Tom and Jerry! Am I right? Too many cartoons in your head ...

Also, mice weren't "unexpected" allies of Russians. They were trained by the scientist named Igor Valenko, who used knowledge of "conditioned reflex" (research of another Russian - Pavlov).Mice were also dropped from planes (tis not a joke). One of the mice from under Stalingrad was called Mikhail and awarded with order of Hero of the Soviet Union:)When Germans learned about it they have designated Katzesicherheitabteilugen - squads of cats:) Similar squads were used by Americans during Cold War.

"Poland was captured in 28 days". Pity, that they didn't mention that commies attacked it from east, cooperating with nazis, and sealing its fate. Also, part of battle montage from previous part was captured in Poland (girl crying over dead body of her sister - first day of bombardment of Warsaw - the most destroyed allied city in wwII).

Soviet Union, Great Britain AND America against Germany? Hitler was an uneducated, Austrian Corporal who used Methamphetamine daily and some people idolize him and call him a "military genius". A suicidal maniac with delusions of grandeur, yet there are still people who think Hitler was a great man. May God help us...
I am quite thankful to the Soviets who fought so bravely against the Nazi menace. American casualties were inconsequential compared to the Soviets. Thanks from an American!
This Russian documentary is not even biased. They don't demonize the enemy as done in nearly every single Discovery Channel and History channel documentary where they deliberately throw in the holocaust somewhere and always attack individual Nazi's personally to remind you that they be EVIL and the allies where good. While Russians with 17 million civilian casualties have every right to be biased and demonize the enemy in a documentary they don't.

OK. To repeat, once again.
I am not devotee of Stalin. I hate Stalin, but I hate Hitler even more.
Stalin won and Hitler lost war.
Why?
Did Stalin listen to his generals? I think so.
Did Hitler listen to his generals? Generally not.
Did the Soviets learn from their mistakes, and use effective strategy of deception, combined with guerilla warfare, improved tank battle strategy, against a demoralised Nazi army! Yes
